Stone Island x New Balance 574 Steel Blue/Grey

The sneaker maintains a classic look, honoring the blueprint it was based on when it debuted in 1988. As a Stone Island 574, however, the unreleased pair delivers a modernized build inspired by military garments. The fashion label’s iconic compass logo appears on the top of the tongue, though it isn’t removable like on other pieces by the brand;

The Stone Island x New Balance 574 Legacy features ripstop upper bases and matching suede overlays. Additional detailing comes in the form of leather and 3M reflective elements. Branding on the shoes includes tacked-on “N” logos, “NEW BALANCE” embroidered at the rear, logo-marked heel counters, Stone Island compass motifs at the tongue tags, and printed insoles. Finally, elevating the uppers are ENCAP-assisted midsoles and speckled black rubber outsoles.
The new build adds a revitalized feel to the sneaker, one that adds to its traditional standard mesh construction. Additionally, New Balance’s “N” logo can be spotted on the lateral sides and heel, while reflective 3M details round off the pair.
